Welcome to my blog of recipes, food and information in general! It's a FUN place too. The recipes are NOT all TNT (tried-n-true) so look for it to be fun to try something new that I think I'd enjoy trying (and will).
About Me
- ~*~ Shar ~*~
- I hope I can share some helpful and interesting information. I've always made it a personal goal to learn something new everyday so this is a great challenge! I also take the size of my human "footprint" and homesteading seriously with continuous efforts at improvement. I appreciate your stopping by and hope you'll want to return soon. I really enjoy having new followers and comments posted.
Handy Ideas and Tips!
If you pack lunches for the kids, make up a list like a menu. Then they can pick (the night before) what they'll have for the sandwich item, fruit, etc. You can add it it, change it for the seasons, etc. It also can be very handy for a reminder of what's needed from the grocery store so items can be added to the shopping list. Keep a shopping list next to the menu and you might find family members helping with the shopping list. It can also help with the "I wants" when doing the shopping! They can learn to add it to the list and have the reassurance that their lunch wishes are being considered. It should help make a happier and more peaceful shopping trip and teach the kids some valuable lessons. Without the begging, you'll all be able to carry on a conversation which ups the trip into quality time instead of stressing parents time!

Eat local for the freshest produce! Fresh produce stores better and longer!
Visit your local farmers' market! It's interesting to learn about how and where our food is grown and then reaches our table. You might just make some new friends too!

Measure it!
English vs Metric measurements
1 lb = 480 g
14 oz = 420g
4 oz = 120 g
1 cup = 8 oz = 300 ml
1 pint = 1 lb = 600 ml
1 quart = 2 lb/32 oz = 1200 ml
1 lb = 480 g
14 oz = 420g
4 oz = 120 g
1 cup = 8 oz = 300 ml
1 pint = 1 lb = 600 ml
1 quart = 2 lb/32 oz = 1200 ml
1 cup = 8 oz = 250 ml
2/3 c = 150 ml
3/4 c = 175 ml
3/4 c + 1 1/2 T = 200 ml
1 oz + 2 T = 30 g
300 g = a pinch over 11 oz - see next 2 measurements
10 oz = 285 g
12 oz = 360 g
Be sure to bookmark my blog if you want to know where to find the conversions. I'll be adding more as I go and then will also separate them between dry and liquid measurements!
